Where do you live?: USA
I'm having some issues with sending PDF files. I can send them through
Outlook as an attachment without any problem.
However, when I try to send to a larger list, I have an Access tool that
allows me to bypass Outlook and do a serial e-mail. I select the list of
e-mails to send to, the title, send from, and body, then I attach a PDF file
to the e-mail. However when I send the message out, instead of getting an
attachment the e-mail arrives with my message and a long garbled list of
characters. It looks like the e-mail attempts to send it as an
application/octet-stream, then open it as a text/html file.
I know that the access program works, because it has been tested on other
networks and worked without problem; so the issue must be in my system. I
have gone in and added the application/pdf setting in my MIME mappings (this
option wasn't even on my drop down list, so I had to type it in). Do I have
to wait some period of time for this mapping to take effect, or do something
else for this, or should it take effect immediately?
Here is the e-mail message that gets delivered, if this helps shed any light
on the issue:
